I just read a forum on WordPress.org that WordPress version 2.5 doesn’t allow us to excess to the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server. I’m quite disapointing after I found out that I was unable to use a plugin just like other people that are using an older version of WordPress. So what I want to say is I’m totaly screwed because I was unable to modifying my blog’s theme which I would like to change it frequently, I cannot enable the hidden files such as plugin which I need that because I want to customize my blog so that I can put Google Adsense or any other ads in my blog. Yes, I admited that this version is much more easier to use and better then the previous versions of WordPress.

So, my conclusion is WordPress are aiming at an ordinary users. I hope they will once again make the things that missing in the WordPress 2.5 available in the latest version of WordPress. Hopefully..

Um, wordpress running on a webserver wouldn’t have anything to do with a ftp server. They’re separate.

Are you talking about your blog here at wp.com? If you are, you may need to be looking at the forums at http://en.forums.wordpress.org and not voer at wp.org. The software is different and the forums are separate.

You don’t have ftp access here at wp.com though. The software is a shared environment and allowing ftp access would be putting all of the users at risk. Adverts aren’t allowed either.

You are free to do both with the software from wp.org hosted with an actual host though.
